Simeon”.
Turnul-clopotnita a fost construit in anul 1606 in perioada domniei lui Simion Movila (1606-1607), iar cladirea bisericii a fost refacuta de catre Sima, care in armeana inseamna Simion, de unde provine si cealalta denumire a bisericii. Biserica este inchinata Sf. Simion Dzeruni (Simion cel Batran).
Turnu Roșu Church (or St. Simeon) from Suceava is part of the Armenian monuments in Suceava . Because the roof of the bell tower was made of reddish copper sheet, which was brought from Armenia, the residents called this church Turnu Roșu (the Red Tower)
The church was built in 1513 during the reign of Ieremia Movilă by the regional Armenian community, the founder was the Armenian Donig (or Donik). Over time the church underwent a series of transformations. Here is preserved a tombstone dating from 1573, which has an engraved inscription that says “this is the tomb of priest Hovhannes, the head priest of the church, who is the son of Donig, the founder of St. Simeon Church ."
The bell tower was built in 1606 during the reign of Simion Movilă (1606-1607), and the church building was rebuilt by Sima, which in Armenian means Simion, hence the other name of the church. The church is dedicated to St. Simon Dzeruni (Simeon the Elder) .
Today the monument is in a serious damaged condition, although according to the "List of historical monuments from 2004 , of Suceava county ", the whole St. Simon church was declared a historical monument which belongs to A category.
